We all struggle with something. It may be the day to day of working a 9 to 5 job or managing a family. Or both. We often look to others for encouragement or suggestions on a better way to get it all done. I often turn to outside sources for answers. How can I get things done better, quicker, or more efficient? I’m thinking there must be a better way, so I must find it. But I forget to look at myself. I do a lot of things right. I do a lot of things well. And I forget that. Sometimes, the answer is within me. Yep, right in front of me. I’ve had some sort of job since I was 15 and I had my first child at 23. So yeah, I’ve got 30 years of work experience and 22 years of child rearing experience under my belt. I’ve made the mistakes and the corrections. I’ll admit, I don’t know it all, but I know quite a bit. You can’t buy this experience in an online course. You can’t find this experience in a New York Times best seller. This here is life. Everyday….rough…rewarding…exhilarating LIFE.
So, I’m trying to focus more on my life, or the lives of people that are close to me. I’m trying to learn from my experiences and their experiences. If something has worked well in the past, then I’ll do it. And if I know the that something didn’t work well for me or others, then maybe I should not do that. I still enjoy researching and learning a new way of doing something, but I definitely give more value to actual life experiences. I’ve already done the work, why not take advantage of that! What are you an expert of?
